DAMAULI: Construction of a model bridge, unique and modern in design, over Trishuli river in Muglin has been completed.
According to the project, the new bridge will connect Muglin of Chitwan district with Abukhairani of Tanahun district.
Ramesh Subedi, project engineer, claimed that the 160-metre arch-bridge reflects uniqueness of architecture in Nepal. He further said that within a month, vehicles will be allowed to ply on the bridge.
Round, arch bridges are more suited to a Himalayan nation like Nepal, Subedi claimed.
The new bridge was constructed after incidents of road accidents rose unexpectedly on the existing old and dilapidated bridge which was constructed in 1975.
After the construction of the bridge, Pokhara, Lamjung, Gorkha, Tanahun, Baglung, Parbat, Syanjha, Mustang, Manang will be connected with other districts in Nepal.
The bridge was constructed with an estimated budget of Rs 120 million, Subedi shared.
